Men's Basketball Falls to Parkside 60-58

KENOSHA, Wis. — Lake Superior State men's basketball fell to Parkside 60-58 on the road in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday evening.

Lake Superior State (13-11, 9-9 GLIAC) trailed 27-30 at halftime, but proceeded to outscore Parkside (13-11, 11-7 GLIAC) in the final 20 minutes, 31-30. Parkside held on for the 60-58 victory, beating the Lakers by just two points for the second time this season.

Senior forward Blake Marquardt led the Lakers in scoring with 17 points. Sophomore forward Rog Stein recorded a double-double, notching 13 points and 10 rebounds. Junior forward Ke'Montrece Collins and freshman guard C.J. Robinson both tallied eight points, with Robinson shooting 4-for-4. Freshman guard Justin Fischer had eight assists.

The Lakers were 8-of-14 from the free-throw line, while the Rangers were 10-of-14.

Lake State was 36.7 percent on shooting, including 30.0 percent from behind the arc. The Rangers shot 46.0 percent but were only 19.0 percent successful on three-point shots.

The Lakers continue action on the road on Saturday when they face Purdue Northwest at 2 p.m. EST.
