BIG RAPIDS, Mich.— The Lake Superior State men's basketball team fell to No.5- ranked Ferris State, 78-67, Sunday afternoon in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup inside FSU's Wink Arena.
With the loss, the Lakers slip to 15-5 overall and 9-3 in the league. The Bulldogs move to 21-1, 11-1.
LSSU finished the game shooting 40.0 (26-of-65) percent from the field and 41.2 (7-of-17) percent from behind the arc. FSU shot 48.3 and 16.7 percent. Lake Superior was outrebounded, 34-23.
Senior guard Akaemji Williams paced the Lake State offense with a team-high 21 points on 9-of-21 shooting while dishing out seven assists to lead the team.
Freshman forward Rog Stein came off the bench to post a career-highs in points (16) and rebounds (9). The Laker bench outscored the Bulldogs, 31-12, on the afternoon.
Forward Zach Hankins lead the Ferris State offense with 24 points to go along with nine rebounds. Noah King finished with 14 points.
