Laker Men Down Tiffin

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.— Michael Nicholson posted a season-high 22 points Saturday as the Lake Superior State men's basketball team defeated Tiffin, 86-67, in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference clash inside Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

 

With the win, the Lakers improve to 7-1 overall this season with a 2-0 mark in GLIAC competition. The Dragons slip to 2-5, 01

 

Lake Superior shot 48.1 percent from the field in the in the contest with a 35.7 mark from behind the arc. Tiffin finished at 41.4 percent and 38.5 percent. Both squads finished with 31 in the rebounding column.

 

Nicholson also led LSSU in rebound with six on the night. Junior guard Tim Cairnduff posted a season-high 12 points including a pair of triples.

 

Alex Brown led the way for Tiffin posting a double-double with a team-leading 19 points and 11 rebounds. Shane Waldon finished 12 points.

 

The Lakers return to GLIAC competition Dec.7 as they travel to Saginaw Valley to take on the Cardinals at 8 p.m
