VanOudheusden earns all-region honors

ASHLAND, Ohio - Lake Superior State senior forward Tim VanOudheusden is one of two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players to make the Daktronics All-Midwest Region First Team in men's basketball. The other is Findlay senior Josh Bostic, who was voted the region's player of the year by sports information directors.
VanOudheusden, from Grand Rapids, Mich., is the GLIAC's No. 2 scorer, averaging 18.1 points per game, and is ranked ninth in the league in field-goal percentage at .516. The four-year starter helped lead LSSU (21-8) to its first GLIAC North Division title, a school-record 17 league victories and the Lakers' first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1996. He has 1,355 career points and career field-goal percentage of .498.
Bostic and VanOudheusden join Bellarmine's Chartrael Hall, Lewis' Brandon Dagans and Wisconsin-Parkside's LaVontay Fenderson on the first team. The five players will join the pool of all-America candidates.
The Midwest Region Second Team includes Rockhurst's Aaron Hill, Southern Indiana's Jamar Smith, Hillsdale's Tony Gugino, Ferris State's Justin Keenan and Northern Kentucky's Dustin Maguire.
