Sault Ste. Marie, MI - Lake Superior State sophomore thrower Jenna Fleming has qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's & Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Allendale, Michigan at Grand Valley State University on May 26-28.

Fleming broke her own school record and met the provisional qualifying mark at the Bucknell University's Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday, April 15 with a throw of 47.17 meters. Jenna ranks 6th nationally in Division II javelin throwers. The Hilton Beach, Ontario native is the first Laker in seven years to qualify for the NCAA Division II Men's & Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

Head Coach Tony Filipek said "Jenna was able to gain valuable experience on GVSU's javelin runway at 2 meets this year (Al Owen's Classic and GLIAC Champs). The Bucknell meet was a national class field including a professional javelin thrower and athletes from the Big Ten. Jenna steps up to the competition in competitive fields and I have confidence she can continue that on the D2 National Stage."
