Three Lakers Participate in GVSU's "Big Meet"

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the "Big Meet" on Friday, Feb 14 hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. Only athletes who met qualifying marks were invited to compete at the meet.

The Lakers had three athletes participate in the event: David Mitter in the men's 3000 meter run, Riley Collins in the women's high jump and Elizabeth Setsuda in the women's 60 meter dash. 

Mitter set a new personal record in the 3000 meter distance with a time of 8:26.44 to place 23rd in the race. 

Riley Collins placed third in the women's high jump with a height of 1.60 meters. 

Setsuda recorded a time of 8.07 in the 60 meter dash to finish in 46th place at the meet. 

The Lakers will return to competition on Friday, February 21 for the GVSU Tune-Up Meet at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
