SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State women's track and field student-athlete Riley Collins has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Lake Superior State athletic department on Monday.

Collins, a sophomore from Manchester, Michigan who is majoring in biology, scored four points for Lake Superior State at the 2019 GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past week. Collins cleared a height of 1.60 meters to tie for fourth in the high jump and earn three and half points. She was also a part of the Lakers' 4x100-meter relay team that finished in seventh place with a time of 51.66 seconds, which earned her half a point.  

It is the first time that Collins has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week.
