Twenty-nine LSSU athletes make spring 2009 GLIAC All-Academic Team

BAY CITY - Twenty-nine Lake Superior State spring sport athletes, including seven softball players and 22 members of the track and field team, were named to the 2009 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

Leading LSSU's list academically were senior pitcher Nikki Christensen and senior outfielder Rachel Hall of the softball team, senior distance runners Luke Allen and Evan Williams, junior distance runners Emily Bowen, Sarah Christilaw and Katie Scott, and sophomore sprinter Amanda Pieczynski.

Pieczynski topped the list of female athletes with a 3.92 grade point average in exercise science, while Allen led the men with a 3.83 GPA in political science.
