Nathan Williams is entering his second year as the head strength and conditioning coach at Lake Superior State University after being hired in September of 2018. 

Prior to joining LSSU, Williams had numerous stops within the field of strength and conditioning. Most recently he was an intern for the St. Louis Blues (NHL), where he spent time working with the professional team in the summer of 2017 (in-between his two years of masters schooling) and 2018. While living in St. Louis, he also worked as a part-time strength and conditioning coach at D1 Sports Training.

Before that he completed two years as a graduate intern at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (June 2016-May 2018) where he developed and oversaw all training for women’s soccer, men’s/women’s tennis, and men’s/women’s golf. He also assisted the men’s ice hockey team on a daily basis.

Williams’ other stops within strength and conditioning, included Miami (OH) University ice hockey (May 2015-August 2015), Missouri State University volleyball/women’s basketball/men’s and women’s swim and dive (November 2014-May 2015) and Eastern Michigan University football (May 2014-August 2014).

Williams is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, a certified Level 1 Sports Performance coach through USA-W, and certified Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED. He completed his bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Missouri State University in 2016 and master’s degree in exercise science at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2018.
