Ronald "Bud" Cooper Gymnasium 

This multi-purpose gymnasium encompasses 19,500 square feet and can be used for basketball, badminton, volleyball, and tennis. The bleachers can provide seating for 2,500 spectators can also be rolled back to provide additional space. For special events, the gym has a foldaway platform and additional seating can be set up to accommodate 4,000 spectators.The Cooper was established in 1976, with permanent hardwood floor installed in 1999. The atmosphere boasts a fun and exciting gameday experience for all fans. Other events held in the space are the annual United Way Chili cook-off, the Thanksgiving Harvest, along with many summer camps.

The facility was named in honor of late Ronald “Bud’ Cooper who spent more than 30 years of his life at Lake Superior State University. He is one of two men instrumental in establishing the LSSU hockey program and Athletics Hall of Fame. His passion and support of the University as an athlete, coach, athletic director, alumnus and faculty emeritus are unsurpassed
