SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced the 2020 GLIAC Spring All-Academic & Academic Excellence Teams.  33 student-athletes from Lake Superior State achieved academic honors, including 13 on the All-Academic team and 20 on the Academic Excellence list.  

Women's outdoor track & field led the Lakers with a total of 12 honorees between the two teams, with four student-athletes on the All-Academic team and eight named to the Academic Excellence team. The men's outdoor track & field team had a total of eight honorees, with four student-athletes on each team. Men's tennis had four student-athletes recognized with three on the All-Academic team. The men's golf team had four student-athletes named to the Academic Excellence team while the women's golf team had two student-athletes named to the All-Academic team and three on the Academic Excellence team. 

Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student-athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks from the spring semester.
