Fifth Annual Swishes for Wishes Raises Over $4,500

Swishes for Wishes

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Lake Superior State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted the fifth-annual Swishes for Wishes three-on-three basketball tournament on Sunday, benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Raising a grand total of $4,526.74 and having 71 teams who signed up, this year's event continued the upward success that the department has seen in past Swishes for Wishes events.

"I was really excited about getting a record number of 71 teams who signed up, and it makes it even better when all the proceeds go toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation," said Claire Radtke, SAAC Vice President and women's basketball student-athlete. "I hope to see the tournament grow in its success every year."

The event saw involvement across Lake State Athletics, with both current and former athletes and coaches participating on teams, as the Laker men's and women's basketball teams volunteered to help run the event as referees, scorekeepers and more.
